As a young girl whenever I was asked what I wanted to be when I grew up-my answer was always, “I want to be a Mom”. On my first date with my husband I told him I wanted to be a Mom. He didn’t laugh or question but later told me he loved my answer. There was never any question in my mind, I would be a mom. Mike and I were married in 2009 and started trying after a year.
Right now, my husband and I are in the thick of infertility. We have been trying to conceive since April 2019. It has been a long, bumpy road with so many curveballs along the way. So I guess I will tell my story starting from the beginning.
My name is Lauren Sancton and I am originally from Houston, Texas and currently live here with my husband, Marc, and 2.5-year-old daughter, Reese. Our fertility journey is like most - not linear, and has its ups and downs and everything in between.
"It's strange, because with your levels where they're at, you should be able to conceive...no problem." My fertility doctors told me this a handful of times, and each time they did, I had to fight rolling my eyes. Because there we were...two years trying on our own and six months into doing fertility treatments: WITH NO RESULTS. No pregnancies, no miscarriages, nothing.
